Default Unyielding Aura PvE Build

The build code is; ATdRAEwIaqDeKcnZSJJMWP20WgUCDB

Monk/Mesmer
div=11+1+3
hea=10+1
prot=10+1
Reversal of Fortune or Reversal of Damage
Signet of Devotion
Gift of Health
Protective Spirit
dismiss Condition
Inspired Hex
Blessed Signet
Unyielding Aura

I love this elite and decided it was about time for someone to make a build around it. It's the best heal in the game as far as I'm concerned - full health and full energy for only 5 energy - bargain

Now I realise there are drawbacks to having a maintain enchant that if stripped causes people to die, but tbh - it's great fun to play (just don't take on mursaat towers with it on you ok ).

In PvE I've been finding that I rarely need a healing elite nor energy managment (thanks to gift of health being an exceptional heal). Therefore I was looking to see what other elites I could use and decided that this one was the most fun

It's advantages are as follows...

1) If it all goes horribly wrong, you can res quickly and get people straight back into the fight. If need be, end the enchant and get someone to use a hard res on them later.
2) If they die a second time, they don't gather additional DP.
3) If you have annoying rushers in your party, let them die and then put them under your control. If they look like they're going to rush again, just end the enchant. Rinse and repeat until they learn their lesson

The method is;

1) Cast signet of devotion as much as time will allow.
2) Use Gift of health as you main large heal.
3) If you have 2 or more people under unyielding, ensure that you cast blessed signet as much as possible.
4) Protective spirit for anti spikes etc.

This isn't a PvP build by any means, but it is great fun in PvE, hope you enjoy it

While there is no doubt that Unyielding is a fun skill, I still believe that it is better to spend an elite slot preventing death rather than trying to fix a dying team.

While I would agree partly with you there, there are a lot of tactical applications to the skill that are quite useful.

For instance, in terms of an energy managment skill, it's unparrelled. Giving someone full energy at the price of dying for a few seconds isn't too bad. If the other monk in the team is getting a lot of aggro and has spammed all his energy away, I'll usually let him die and then bring him back with full health and full energy, allowing him to spam once more.

Death happens at the end of the day, no monk elite will stop it happening all the time. Generally, I don't have to use it often, but it is useful to have when it is needed.

Besides, gift of health acts pretty much like WoH without the health requirement so why use the elite slot on it? The only other elite I would contemplate building a PvE build around is zealous benediction which can be very efficent.
